FAQs
Who is EFL for?
EFL can be for everyone. If you are interested in exploring your challenges and goals, and doing so alongside donkeys, working with Seen & Herd and Sarah could really help.
What happens in an EFL session with the donkeys?
Sarah will meet you at the farm entrance. We will go to the field together, pausing to check-in before we meet the donkeys. The sessions are tailored to what’s going on for you and what’s going on for the donkeys that day. It may involve just being in the herd, resting and seeing what comes up. It might involve grooming the donkeys, creative art activities or more structured exercises where we explore things like leadership, trust, boundaries and communication. Where clients are coming with specific additional learning needs that need more or less structure we work to support this, too.
How long are sessions?
Usually sessions are 60 minutes for children and 90 minutes for adults. Sometimes children come for 2 hour sessions.
Will I ride the donkeys?
All our work with the donkeys is ground-based, no riding is involved.
What if I am scared?
It is natural to feel nervous before meeting a new person or trying something new. Perhaps you are nervous about meeting the donkeys. We will work to soothe and settle your nerves so that we can be amongst them. Sarah will always be alongside you.
How accessible is the site?
The stable and field are accessible, though the field may become too wet for wheelchair users after heavy rain. In this case, we would carry out the session in the stable. There is no wheelchair accessible toilet.
What should I wear?
Shoes or boots that cover your toes and that you don’t mind getting dirty. Bring layers for cold and wet and suncream/hat for warm weather.
What if I need to cancel my session?
I have a 48 hour cancellation policy - within 48 hours the full fee is payable.
